A metamorphosis of feeling made manifest upon canvas, Dwayne Hutton’s I was simply the lesson is an expression of emotions, channeled through abstract paintings where colours occur and collide in an uncontrolled manner.

In bringing forward an expression of emotion through colour and composition, the artworks engage audiences primarily on a sensory level and consequently, communicate a shared human existence that transcends societal prejudice, barriers and differences to instead champion our common, yet personal expressions of humanity.
