"That’s a big country for family to go and visit, it’s very important and beautiful for people to visit country, kele marra, relha mpupa! (It’s good!)"

– Marjorie ‘Nunga’ Williams

In a debut exhibition presented by BSG Projects and Tangentyere Artists, Pmara Knarraitja! That’s a Big Country! celebrates artists of Tangentyere community, Alice Springs, NT.

Through their practice, Tangentyere Artists communicate stories about their history, identity, families and lives. They aim to highlight the everyday experience of Aboriginal people in Central Australia. Artists paint memories; true stories which are narrated in paint, weaving together diverse and shared experiences from this region. When sharing stories, Artists place themselves in the national conversation, working towards understanding and reconciliation.

Established in 2005, Tangentyere Artists is an Aboriginal owned, not-for-profit enterprise for Town Camp Artists. Tangentyere is an Arrernte word meaning coming together, working together, and the artists represented here are from several different Countries and language groups.

Artists featured in this exhibition include Coralie Kumanara Williams, Ingrid Williams, Sadie Clare Richards, Betty Conway.

Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of Pmara Kngarraitja! That's a Big Country! on Friday 19 April (6–8PM).
