Portrait of the Assassin's Sister (after Maria Wiik)

This series is a pop culture exploration of self-image and the struggle to be emotionally open.

Using photography of action figures that is then collaged into old world portraits, anonymous robot characters from the background of Hollywood blockbusters are given a dignity we all wish we could feel. But despite their finery and dramatic poses, their impassive faces resist emotional expression.
