Katie Daniels
Katie is a Melbourne-based Australian artist dedicated to capturing the beauty of the natural world.
Through her distinctive colour palette and expressive landscapes, she creates an emotional record of her travels, offering viewers a sense of respite and joy. Her work reflects a deeply personal connection to the environment, transforming fleeting moments into lasting impressions.
Originally from the Illawarra region in NSW, Katie holds a BCA with First Class Honours from the University of Wollongong NSW, and since beginning her professional artistic practice she has had several solo exhibitions. In 2019 her work was selected by The Design Files to be highlighted in their TDF Selects exhibition series, and in 2022 Katie exhibited a collection of paintings in the Sydney Contemporary Art Fair as part of Saint Cloche Gallery’s showcase. Her work has been a finalist in several national art prizes, including; the Wynne Prize (2018), the National Emerging Artist Prize (2021, 2024), the Calleen Art Award (2021, 2022), and most recently the Georges River Art Prize (2025). Katie’s entry for the 2021 Calleen Art Award was also acquired by the Cowra Regional gallery for their permanent collection. In 2025, her entry for the Wynne Prize was selected to be part of the annual Salon Des Refusés exhibition at the S.H.Ervin gallery, Sydney.
