Summer Daze

Winter Light Exhibition 2025

Brunswick Street Gallery is now accepting applicatoins from artists who wish to exhibit in Summer Daze, a group exhibition to be held from 12 February–1 March 2026.

Brunswick Street Gallery is pleased to invite you to submit work for our upcoming group exhibition, Summer Daze.

Summer Daze is a group exhibition that invites viewers to reflect on summer as both a season and a state of mind. As the warmer months unfold here in Naarm (Melbourne), long sunlit days blur into golden evenings, heat softens time, and memory drifts between clarity and haze. Summer becomes a space of longing, leisure, intensity, and release.

This exhibition explores the dreamy, languid, and sometimes disorienting qualities of summer, including moments of stillness and excess, nostalgia and freedom, and boredom and brilliance.

Our group exhibitions provide an opportunity for artists working across all mediums to showcase new work without the pressure of a solo exhibition, and to exhibit alongside fellow emerging and established artists.

Exhibition Prompts:

Whether working in still life, portraiture, landscape painting, or object making, artists are invited to respond to summer’s sensory atmosphere, including light, heat, colour, rhythm, and the emotional residue the season leaves behind.

We welcome submissions across all mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, textiles, installation, digital media, and experimental practices.

Exhibition Fee:

Up to six artworks may be accepted per artist, across all mediums, including photography, painting, prints, drawings, and 3D ceramic and sculptural practices.

The exhibiting fee is $60 per artwork for 1–2 works, or $50 per artwork for 3 or more works.

Artwork should measure 60 × 60 cm or under. Works larger than 60 cm on any side may attract a higher fee.

Terms:

Brunswick Street Gallery values carefully curated exhibitions and may limit the number of works displayed by each artist, depending on the size of the submitted works and the wall space available within the exhibition.

Artists must supply high-res images and full details (title, medium, dimension and price) of works to be exhibited by Sunday 1 February. Artworks must be delivered to the gallery no later than 12PM on Monday 9 February. The exhibition opening celebration will occur from 6PM on Friday 13 February.

Only selected artists are required to pay the exhibiting fee. Brunswick Street Gallery retains a 30% commission on all sold works.

We require artists, once their proposal has been accepted, to sign an artist agreement outlining artist and gallery's rights and responsibilities.

How to apply:

To submit your proposal, please email the following to exhibit@brunswickstreetgallery.com.au:

  • A short statement about your artworks
  • A short statement about your practice
