ARE YOU OUR NEXT EXHIBITIONS MANAGER?

Brunswick Street Gallery (BSG) is looking for a passionate and experienced Exhibitions Manager to join our tight-knit team. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of our physical Fitzroy based gallery. BSG is a multifaceted creative hub with a gallery, stockroom, print space, and curatorial program (BSG Projects). The Exhibitions Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving the artistic and commercial success of Brunswick Street Gallery’s gallery, while working alongside and supporting BSG’s stockroom and BSG Projects. This position is supported by a Gallery Assistant and part-time Install Technician, and reports to the Gallery Manager as well as Gallery Director.

Primary responsibilities include managing the exhibition schedule, overseeing artist call-outs and exhibition logistics, ensuring a high quality and commercially viable exhibition program as well as co-managing two annual art prizes. As Exhibitions Manager you will develop and maintain strong relationships with artists and customers, implement marketing strategies to increase sales and oversee exhibition bookings, advertising assets including newsletters and social media posts, oversee website management, ensure sales records are maintained, artwork logistics for incoming and outgoing exhibitions are managed, and incredible customer service is provided to artists and buyers. The Exhibitions Manager will also be expected to oversee BSG’s gallery budget, with support from the Gallery Director. Please note Brunswick Street Gallery is a partly representational gallery and a gallery space for hire by emerging and established artists.

This is a maternity leave position, 12 month contract.

Full-time (1.0FTE) with working hours Tuesday–Saturday.
