ON BECOMING WATER
AASHNA MANOHAR
7–24 MAY

On Becoming Water reflects a year of transformation in Aashna’s life—a period shaped by movement, upheaval, and quiet rebuilding. Drawn to coastlines, rivers, and rain, she found in water a steadying presence: a place to breathe, listen, and return to herself.

These paintings trace her process of learning to move with life rather than against it, echoing the ways water absorbs and transforms without losing its essence. Through layered fields of blue, she explores adaptation as a way of being—yielding, reshaping, continuing—not through force, but through an openness to whatever arrives.

Water is not something she observes from afar; it is something she feels and internalises—a guide for how to remain fluid in the face of uncertainty. These works hold a quiet strength, speaking to resilience and the soft release of control. They offer a gentle reminder that life unfolds through movement, openness, and the ongoing act of learning to flow.
