‘Up top of the sandhill you can look down and see all the Country that way. You can see the waterholes the birds come to. They swoop in and then swoop out, one kind after other one. There’s different bush flowers and trees, all in that Country. That’s good Country. My, country.’
– Marjorie Nunga Williams
At The Centre brings together artists from Central and Western Desert Art Centres, sharing stories both old and new from the heart of the country. Drawing on their surroundings, the works depict vast and vibrant desert landscapes, lush bush medicine plants, playful scenes of Town Camp life and of the animals around their homes, and share powerful Tjukurpa (Dreaming).
In a showcase weaving together memories, stories, and generational knowledge that invite reverence, reflection and connection, we are delighted to share these remarkable works with you.
At The Centre highlights work from the artists of Artists of Ampilatwatja, Bindi Mwerre Anthurre Artists, Iwiri Arts, Papunya Tjupi, Tangentyere Artists, Tjanpi Desert Weavers, Utopia Arts, Warlukurlangu Artists.
At The Centre is presented by BSG Projects, and in proud partnership with the above Art Centres.
