Before the Beginning
Noah Xaver Pfister
29 May–15 jun

Noah Xaver Pfister’s practice is rooted in the Dionysian impulse—a surrender to instinct, flux, and the dissolution of boundaries. He rejects imposed structure and narrative. Instead, he allows the work to emerge through unmediated action, where control gives way to rhythm and transformation.

This process mirrors the principles of fractal geometry, where patterns recur at varying scales, revealing a self-similarity that permeates nature and existence. From the branching of trees to the formation of coastlines, these structures demonstrate that complexity arises from simple iterative processes. In his art, Pfister captures this essence, creating works that reflect the inherent patterns and rhythms found in the natural world.

By embracing both the chaotic and the structured, Before the Beginning explores the interconnectedness of all things, inviting viewers to perceive the underlying order within apparent disorder.

Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of Before the Beginning on Friday 30 May April (6–8PM)
