Beneath The Nostalgic Sky
Jessica Candradi
22 August–8 September
Beneath the Nostalgic Sky is a compilation of photographs that artist, Jessica Candradi captured between the years of 2016–2024 throughout the continents of Europe, America, Asia and Africa. Focused on portraits, places and daily quandaries from the eyes of an observer who yearns to find something extraordinary in ordinary moments. These series of photographs will invite you to explore an adventure through a cinematic visual narrative.
Fascinated by small details and gestures, She always has the spark to capture the moments that might seem to be mundane but hold a special meaning in her heart.
This series of photographs is an ever-growing and never ending love letter for wanderers and globetrotters who yearn for small visual wonders.
It's a home away from home.
a Slice of life.
Jessica Candradi is a self-taught Photographer and a former pastry chef. It was 2012 in Melbourne while undergoing pastry and culinary studies, when she bought her first camera and discovered her predilection towards the languages of photography. Irrevocably drawn to portraits and fashion editorials, she decided to take the bullet before becoming a full-time photographer. She has been one ever since and now well-reputed for her scenic cinematic images and signature warm tones. I take great pleasure in traveling - discovering new things and cultures while doing so.
Her interest is in the more mundane, even trivial aspects of life that were not being recorded by anyone else, the immediacy of unposed, spontaneous photographs conveys more raw and honest feelings and traveling is one of the best chances to open our mind to seek new stories, cultures and experiences. By capturing all these things that captivates me, She will be able not only to freeze and immortalise the moments but also create a visual narrative that is worthwhile.
Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of Beneath the Nostalgic Sky exhibition on Friday 23 August (6–8PM)
