Sacred Sacra
Dion Fibishenko
27 January–11 February 2024

Through colourful and expansive watercolour and oil paintings, Dion explores the ongoing healing of his own relationship with sex. Moving from places of recklessness, insecurity and danger, he reclaims the holiness of his sexuality in bright, bold artworks.

Dion is a queer, budding artist based in Naarm. He predominantly works in watercolour & oil painting. Dion paints with vibrant and deep bursts of colour, his fluid and intuitive strokes produce a playful naivety. His earth-toned paintings are swelling, passionate emotions pressed into paper with pigment.

Dion explores spirituality, nature and mental health through his work - contemplating the inner world vs the outer world. Through these emotive paintings, Dion tenderly invites you to look within his own soul. He has exhibited in numerous group shows, and had his debut solo exhibition Terra Di Grano at the young age of 16
