NORTH-EAST
EDWINA EDWARDS
5–20 December
In North-East, Edwina Edwards traces the shifting landscape along the Hume Highway, where the vast Riverina plains meet the ancient ridges of the Great Dividing Range. It is a journey through geography and time, as the highway follows the Murray River into Albury-Wodonga—a place where earth, water, and history converge.
Edwards captures this transition with a refined palette of textures and tones, balancing the immensity of geological time with the fleeting beauty of light and season. The landscape feels both anchored and alive, as the winding Murray sculpts the landscape over time and shifting clouds subtly transform the scene.
This collection reflects the contrasts of North East Victoria—the enduring force of nature alongside the immediacy of the present. Through her art, Edwards invites reflection on the land's deep history while embracing the transient moments that continue to shape it.

Edwina Edwards is an Australian contemporary landscape painter, based in Albury, NSW.
In 2014 Edwina, with family in tow, returned to Albury. As part of the tree-change she was able to pursue her love of art, returning to study and completing an Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts in 2016. Her abstracted style and passion for colour demonstrate a process of absorption of surrounds, intuitively applying paint to create landscapes rich in colour, rhythm and depth.
Edwina has held four solo exhibitions at Brunswick Street Gallery, 9 Kilometres (2019), Bush Solace (2020), Majestic Capes (2021), Biophilia (2022), and Crossing Parths (2023), and has curated one group exhibition Regenerative Visions (2021). North–East will be Edwina’s sixth solo exhibition with Brunswick Street Gallery.
