Oh, what a chaotic, chaotic old world

8–25 May

Oh, What a Chaotic, Chaotic Old World is a collection of works created over the past four years, each unpacking various socio-economic and socio-historical narratives. The layers of history, shifting aesthetics, the natural and the artificial, the perfect and the decrepit, the rich and the poor—all are key thematic elements explored throughout the works. These themes are further conveyed through intricate detail and an intentionally overwhelming visual presence.

Contrast is everything: no matter how superficial or beautiful, mundane or fascinating something may be, tension persists. Modernity battles tradition, consumerism collides with industry. The manipulation of architecture and landscape consistently reveals what a society holds dear—what values or images it seeks to project, or what it hopes to obscure from the wider world.

Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of Oh, what a chaotic, chaotic old world on Friday 9 May (6–8PM)
