Panels, by Western Australian artist Olivia Colja, presents a process-driven series of paintings–a swinging pendulum between abstraction and figuration. With constraints of reason, the spontaneous and dynamic compositions are directly inspired by the subconscious and are applied with a breath of thick and thin brushstrokes. The series explores the interconnections between paint application and movement, illustrating a symbolic tactile growth artistically and intrinsically.
