WALLFLOWER
REBECCA KILPATRICK
4–21 DECEMBER

Quietly considered yet vibrant and raw, Rebecca Kilpatrick’s most recent body of work, Wallflower, showcases her exploration of the overlapping narratives of life, time, and one’s honest perception of their own small universe.

Delving into the spaces of unresolved endings and renewal—amid relationship divergence, career strain, and broader reflections on one’s right to simply exist through artmaking—Wallflower expands on Kilpatrick’s practice. It draws from previously explored motifs, including the lighting of Modern Australian landscape painting and elements of ’90s Australiana nostalgia such as stucco ceilings and Colorbond fencing colour charts.

The artist invites you to spend some time alone with her works, considering whether the measured, rational approach of scientific observation can help you pause and feel the emotions that arise—those that can resonate only with you, the viewer.

Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of Wallflower on Friday 5 December (6–8PM)
