The Art of Letting Go
Ellen McVeigh
22 April–4 May
The Art of Letting Go examines moments and memories; and the idea of ‘Home’ as a condition rather than a place. In her work, Ellen searches for calmness in the clash of repression, and the seemingly paradoxical idea of surrendering within a structured and controlled environment. Her figures are often self-reflective and primarily young women. The quiet intimacy of Ellen’s subjects can feel both universal and deeply personal, reflecting the layers of connection, solitude, and identity inherent in everyday life. The Art of Letting Go also seeks to reflect activities or feelings that bind us all and captures the delicate vulnerability of a normal life; creating a dialogue between the viewer and her art that lingers long after leaving the space.
Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of The Art of Letting Go on Thursday 24 April (6–8PM)
