Wastelands
Logan Moody
22 April–4 May
This collection of highly detailed stencil artworks reimagines the overlooked and discarded. Each piece captures a single fragment of waste—often a crumpled plastic form—rendered with an extraordinary level of realism. Through meticulous layering and the interplay of light and shadow, the work elevates these forgotten objects beyond their transient existence.
At first glance, the subject matter appears mundane, yet the precision of each stencil transforms the ordinary into something almost sculptural. The wrinkles, reflections, and distortions of plastic become a study in texture and depth, revealing unexpected beauty in decay. This pursuit of hyperrealism challenges the perception of stencil art, pushing the medium to its limits.
By focusing on discarded materials, the collection also speaks to the permanence of waste—objects designed to be used briefly but lasting indefinitely. In capturing these moments of refuse with such intensity, the work invites reflection on value, impermanence, and the artistry hidden in the everyday.
