Well Aged

Created in response to the acceptance of aging, Carrie McDowell presents a series of woven and sculpted vessels in Well Aged. A symbol of the female body, each vessel is made from hand stitching and woven fabric, practices historically associated with work of women.

In Well Aged, both rust, and the rusting process, become visible representations of the aging process. There is something beautiful about the marks left in the aging process.
