Last Light, Sleepy Bay
Central to Chloe Caday’s practice, painting the Australian landscape helps bridge the gap between the passive and dynamic experiences with the landscape. Earlier this year, Caday spent time in the incredibly diverse landscapes of Tasmania - from the thick terrain of Takayna to the pristine coastline of Freycinet. Inspiring this body of work, Caday captures the intimate and deep rhythms of the landscape - bringing the viewer into the quiet retreats in-between the rocky outcrops of Freycinet. Spiny ti-trees and twisting gum trees emerge from the rocks, weaving their way through the dynamic landscape in reach for light.
