Re-visiting is a collection of new works from artist Jessie Ford, exploring her connection to place and memory. Returning to the same locations over a period of time has elicited an evolving visual response to these natural environments, allowing the artist to find new meaning with each new iteration of work.

Grounded in the immersive and sensorial experience of plein air painting, gestural marks capture the immediate and present moment. Some paintings are completed in one sitting while others are finalised in the studio.

Through this series Ford reflects how our impressions of place can differ greatly from day to day; impacted by weather, mood, time, people and sounds. Each painting captures a single memory, and together as a collection they come to represent her impressions of that place over time.
