Flux
Lauren Cameron (she/they) is a ceramic-based artist living and working on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation (Naarm/Melbourne).
Rooted in the visceral and the vulnerable, her practice navigates the terrains of trauma, assault, and “petty emotions,” those small, sharp feelings so often dismissed or suppressed.
Using clay as both medium and conceptual tool, Lauren creates works that function as tactile records of the body’s memory fractured, stitched, and scarred. Her forms oscillate between tenderness and tension, revealing the intricate architecture of feeling through hand-built and wheel-thrown processes. The surface of her work, often sculptural, layered, and broken, is where emotional residue is made visible.
