In a human lifetime, 90,000 hours are spent working, one third of a life dedicated to being goal-focused and on task. First-hand, Max Rickards has experienced industries demanding that workers remain in offices or on-site for excessive amounts of time, often leading to burnout. As a response to this, Rickards' engages with a fluid and spontaneous style that has no clear objective. His process of painting is not drafted, but instead informed by relationships between playfulness, time abundance, and freedom.
