After successfully showing as part of the ‘In Review’ exhibition in December last year and a feature in House & Garden Magazine, we are excited to receive these highly coveted paintings by emerging artist Sam Boyle.

Sam Boyle is a multidisciplinary artist born in London (1998). He completed a BA in Fine Art in England at Newcastle University and has recently moved to Melbourne. Working across installation, video and painting as a means to explore and develop conceptual ideas he has exhibited work in Newcastle Upon Tyne, London and New York. More recently Sam has used painting and drawing to reflect and nurture his relationship with the natural world.

These works are responses to moments experiencing the natural world within Melbourne. Working in mixed medium, Sam’s compositions are partially reimagined and altered from memory, facilitating a playful and personal approach to each painting. Often using close-up sections of much larger landscapes as a focus point, Sam isolates and expresses the harmony and stillness of nature which can be found in the urban environment. This idea is explored through quiet observation, colour and texture.
