Zory McGrath is a Bulgarian-born Australian artist currently based in Melbourne. With over two decades of professional practice across Europe and Australia, she graduated with both a BA and an MA in Fine Art and is represented by Brunswick Street Gallery.
Known for her captivating cityscapes, McGrath explores the intricate formation of individual identities shaped by collective experiences in public spaces. Her work reflects the vibrant sights of suburban landscapes, capturing urban life that feels both familiar and foreign. Utilising impressionistic detail and a dynamic color palette, she skillfully orchestrates the interplay between human figures and architectural forms.
Over her twenty year practice, McGrath’s paintings have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Australia and internationally, showcasing the rich narratives interwoven within contemporary urban spaces.
"I see my art as an ever-evolving process, just as the world is ever-evolving around us," she notes, emphasising her dynamic and responsive approach to creativity. As she continues to delve into the complexities of our contemporary relationship with the environment, McGrath is preparing for her next exhibition, where she aims to further explore these themes.

Fragments of Urban Essence captures the pulse of city life through works painted on repurposed plaster walls from the artist’s urban explorations.
