Acid Goth
Georgie Stokol
25 JANUARY–9 FEBRUARY
Acid Goth is Georgie Stokol’s debut solo exhibition, featuring an electric fusion of vibrant acrylics. Inspired by Melbourne’s street art and nightlife, metal music, and the natural world, these works explore the mysterious and unsettling moments of embracing the unknown and surrendering to darkness. The high-contrast paintings are crafted to evoke curiosity or discomfort, with each viewing revealing new details and secrets within their strange, immersive worlds. Georgie uses fluoro acrylic ink to create dynamic movement in her pieces, allowing the dripping ink to shape her work in unexpected ways. For her, the process is a balance between letting the paint flow freely and guiding it into deliberate forms—often evoking an organic reclamation or decaying of industrial spaces.
Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of Acid Goth on Saturday 25 January (6–8PM)
