ALL HEAVEN’S SONGS
ELLA THRUPP
24 October–10 November

In divergence from her previous collections, with ‘All Heaven’s Songs’ Ella Thrupp explores the ephemeral, the emotional, the floating worlds and the light.

This limited collection of works is created with muted reverence, and finds balance between the matte and the luminous. In these paintings you’ll find the spectrum of feeling - some mournful and solemn, and others charming and playful. Ella Thrupp creates with many semi-transparent glazes on unprimed linen.

This process of layering dark over light creates a subtle glow and complexity to the pieces. Colours interact with each other, and many glazes play together to create the perception of a colour that is not really there. In this way, Ella further explores the existence of the intangible, the matter of illusion, and the spiritual world that we live in but cannot see.

Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of All Heaven’s Songs on Friday 25 October (6–8PM)
