Falling Leaves Return to Roots
Sheng Yi Lee
3–20 October
Driven by the artist's Eastern and Western cultural influences, 'Falling Leaves Return To Roots' explores themes of identity, belonging, and purpose. Sheng Yi's paintings reflect on the pivotal experiences from her late 20s and early 30s, such as taking a leap of faith in her career, navigating the roles of daughter, partner and friend, and defining happiness and success according to her own values. Through allegory and Chinese symbolism, each piece offers a glimpse into the artist's perspective on these key moments. Viewers are invited to bring their own interpretations to the work, sharing in the universal human journey of self-discovery and expression.
