Library of Lost Emotions
Ebony dew
22 August–9 September
This work is a catalogue of felt experiences ranging the full spectrum of emotions through colour, movement, and flow. Captured with acrylic, raw canvas, this work captures an energy; an emotion. It reflects a deeper, more intuitive, and emotional way of being in the world. It is a self-honoring experience of self, uninhibited. Like a photograph that can only be taken once, it captures something a little less material and a little more felt.
The Library of Lost Emotions captures the essence of energy you can only feel and not always explainable through words and rational thinking.
It is a special and unique experience only you know. It is truly a library of moments. All fragments and reflections of emotions from a snapshot in time.
In these pieces, the colours and movements capture something of the essence of this experience. You’ll know it when you see it because it will feel familiar, it will feel like an old friend, a reconnection to self, a recognition, a knowing.
Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of The Library of Lost Emotions on Friday 23 August (6–8PM)
Ebony Dew is an intuitive and energy-focused contemporary artist based on Gubbi Gubbi Country, Peregian Beach, Queensland. She is devoted to creativity and exploration of the inner realms. Ebony’s creative energy fuels her life and ignites her passion to explore emotions, nature, colour, and light. In her work, she loves to play with colours and the relationships between movement and materials. Ebony allows freedom of expression in all her pieces, which brings forward a type of loose and wild display of spirit.
Dew’s work is captured with acrylic and canvas, and has abstract expressionism at heart. Her work captures an energy; an emotion. It reflects a deeper, more intuitive, and emotional
way of being in the world. It is a self-honouring experience of self, uninhibited.
