Some Time Out is a collection of paintings from an ongoing study of daily life. Leisurely snack sessions, ephemera accumulating on the kitchen bench, a book recommended by a friend waiting to be finished, an almost finished jar of jam from the farmers market. Mundane but comforting. Interactions between grouped items are examined for the feeling they collectively communicate.

Krystyna Katsouri is an early career artist, working in oil-painting, illustration and ceramics. Her work often explores themes such as personal space, dreams, inner monologues and home. Compositionally, her paintings could be described as still life merging with dream-scapes. She combines subject matter from recorded memories to create snapshots of life.
