Spirit Trees is an exploration into ghosts of nature within place and time. Haunted land, mountains or water bodies where the trees once stood are contradicted by the ones left alive who possibly miss them, and what is possible to ‘miss’ in a landscape when looking from a human experience? What exists now and what we don’t see but remember or feel is conveyed through colour, shape and layered texture. The colour palette chosen as a reflection of the Victorian bushland and her seasons. The tree spirits depicted with a white dreamlike finish inhabiting the spaces where their souls linger.
