Very Queer
Eddy Burger
25 JANUARY–9 FEBRUARY
Eddy’s art is queer in sexuality and strangeness. Gender-bending humans and creatures come together in a celebration of the queer, weird, fantastic and fun. Some works are perverse, grotesque and in-your-face, most of them created through stream-of-consciousness. Mediums include black pen, coloured inks and digital prints.
Eddy is an anti-realist, anti-conservative, and punk anarchist. His drawings are typically
humorous, surreal, weird and whimsical, and much would be considered queer, favouring the
transgendered, non-binary and abnormal above the heteronormative, conservative and
mainstream. His work speaks of his love for sci-fi, fantasy, animals, weirdness, humour and
storytelling. It can be outlandish and in-your-face yet a chief objective is to celebrate diversity,
difference, uniqueness and nonconformity.
Please join us for a drink to celebrate the opening of Very Queer on Saturday 25 January (6–8PM)
