Yuṯa Ganydjarr
Artists of Yirrkala
23 October – 9 November

BSG Projects is proud to present Yuṯa Ganydjarr (New Energy), an exhibition of dynamic new works on paper from Yirrkala Print Space, alongside striking new barks and carvings by Djul’djul Gurruwiwi.

Yirrkala Print Space, a part of Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka Centre, has long been recognised for producing some of Australia’s most distinctive and powerful works on paper. For thirty years, this thriving print studio has been driven by the creative force of young Yolŋu printmakers—developing their own practice while collaborating with some of the region's leading senior artists. Co-selected by Yirrkala Print Space’s manager, Munuy’ŋu Marika, and lead printmaker Bitharr #2 Maymuru, this exhibition brings together highlights from their 2025 program, showcasing the ever-renewing energy of this remarkable studio.

We are also honoured to present new works by Djul’djul Gurruwiwi, renowned carver and bark painter. Daughter of celebrated Gälpu clan artist Mithinarri Gurruwiwi and sister of master carver Judy Manany, Djul’djul continues her family’s legacy with a series of powerful carvings and barks that speak to deep cultural knowledge and her enduring artistic skill.

In Yuṯa Ganydjarr (New Energy), we are drawn into the boundless creative journey of Yirrkala’s artists, sharing in the stories woven through their art.

Please join us to celebrate the opening of Yuṯa Ganydjarr on Friday 24 October (6–8PM).
