This series of paintings captures urban night scenes around areas in proximity to Brunswick and Fitzroy. The works are grouped into three themes: “Across the fleeting blue”, “Kindred spirits of the night” and “Home is where the light is” and attempt to capture the moment when the night falls and the urban landscape becomes quiet. The series invites contemplation on how the urban land, often perceived as a passive element, actively shapes the emotional landscape of ourselves and people around us. It binds us to a place and subtly influences our thoughts and feelings, and our day-to-day living.
