I have enjoyed the visceral process of creating paintings (oil beeswax on canvas): whilst engaging the senses; listening to music, the smell oil paint, sense of touch techniques and textures. For the over 20 years I have been interested in looking at the urban inner-city landscape of Melbourne philosophically transcending its essence into expressionistic and impressionistic paintings. After the lockdown I have engaged with art group (previously known as MREAM) ‘En Plein Air’ visiting locations drawing and developing into paintings, inspirations from landmarks and nature from the western suburbs of Melbourne.
