This winter, Maddie has been painting in plein air, rain or shine, in the mornings. Some days in the mountains, other days in her own garden, she records the scenes and skies around her. These small works on paper have seen many adventures as she makes sketches and gouache impressions in fresh air, before returning to the studio to create further works. 

Although part of a more extended process, Maddie loves the freshness and authenticity to these works which capture a sense of place and time in wintery weather. 

Also included are three monoprints - a recent direction for Maddie which represent memories of time spent in meaningful places.
